TAX PAYABLE ON RENTING OUT YOUR MAIN HOME IN FRANCE

TAX PAYABLE ON RENTING OUT YOUR MAIN HOME IN FRANCE

Hi, I'm having trouble getting exact information on this question on the internet and I'm hoping one of you clued up users will be able to help me.

I live in France and during the summer I rent out my own home and move elsewhere for about 6-8 weeks as this is pretty much my main source of income.  The total income I receive is in excess of Euro12,000 per year.

Do you know if I have to declare this income and if so, do I declare 100% and deduct expenses, such as cost for me to live elsewhere, cleaning, gardening, pool maintenance, a proportion of utilities, etc or do I declare a lower percentage but not take off any expenses or is this income exempt?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
