AC not in the living area

We have arrived at our AirBnB after a 17 hour bus ride for a 6 week stay. The hosts were gracious enough to pick us up. After checking in, we discovered a lot of issues: Pet hair on the sheets and pillows. (they purchased a new set for us) No towel racks.  The shower has very slippery tile.

Also, the Airbnb description mentioned 1.5 bathrooms. When we arrived, the 2nd bathroom was not available. We are seniors and told them that the steps are too much for us go up and down to use the upstairs bathroom and would like them to open up the downstairs bathroom. We talked them into opening the bathroom. We contacted the hosts and they did. .  They have been great.  The apartment has three floors which we were not aware of. They laundry is on the third floor.

Now, a bigger issue, we arrived in the morning and the climate in living area was ok. We noticed they did not have an AC anywhere downstairs. They had a fan that does not circulate.  We thought that this might be OK. However, towards the afternoon and evening hours, the apartment is hot. The fan merely blows the hot air. We opened the windows in the AM for some cool air.  But the afternoons are hot.

What would be our options with Airbnb should we decide to find another place?

@Wayne569 It sounds like the hosts have done everything they can to sort out the issues you have had. Often sensible use of blinds and windows will sort out lack of living room aircon so, in answer to your question, I would hope Airbnb give you no options if you complain.

That's good you were able to sort out most of the issues your were experiencing. The listing should be clear and accurate about things like flights of stairs. The listing should also be clear if there is only air-conditioning in the bedroom and not the living room. In some parts of the world may not need air condoning but in other more tropical climates it's more essential. So I think this would be grounds to get refunded for unused nights and find something else if this wasn't mentioned in the listing.

You also mentioned the tiles in the shower were very slippery. Tiles do have a rating for how slippery they are so they may be the wrong kind of that application. I've made that mistake before. It wasn't for a shower but if feet were wet at all it was like ice, so if these are "very slippery" in a shower area that should also be addressed if it wasn't already as they aren't suitable for a shower or bathroom especially a rental uint. Here in the US building codes would specify the allowable slippery rating for places like bathrooms.
