Airbnb founder co founder joins Musk at new Dept of Government Efficiency

I was shocked to read that Airbnb co founder Joe Gebbia is joining Elon Musk at this new government  department which has already sacked 10,000 in a government  witchunt - with no notice or reason.

It certainly doesn't align with the Airbnb brand of being open and welcoming to all.

It's an attractive proposition. 

No, not the job for Joe Gebbia, but the removal of any barriers to profitability, i.e., shutting down regulatory watchdogs and such. Now they'll be able get away with almost anything with impunity. And that means profits.

That's pretty attractive to any billionistic business, and may explain the mass acquiescence of most market leaders. This one is no different. 

It will have consequences though. But like any love, all is fair, and they don't care. Euphoria has no worry. Until it all comes crashing down. But that's not going to happen, right? Just like last time.

Put some money away. You're probably going to need it.

No, no, no, please no. The Musk DOGE?  Please realize that money and power has been proven to change the structure of one’s brain -work to remember who you were before your success happened. We were such fans of AirBnB, but this makes us sick. No more AirBnB for so many of us - I hope that is what you want!

I have been a  frequent customer of Air BNB for many years. NO MORE.  I will not allow my hard earned money to benefit Joe Gebbia and his work with Elon Musk.  I am seeking other options for vacations---perhaps VRBO?

I called to express my outrage about this decision and to make sure they got my feedback and my intention to switch platforms if Airbnb does not reverse course on this issue.  There are already boycotts being organized by people who typically rent but I think hosts will start dropping off, too.  I know I will.  We are in the middle of a coup, we don’t need billionaires piling on and taking part in the hostile takeover.

It depends on your type of listing . Perhaps ask on the New York host group about which STR channels hosts are using who have similar listings @Mark5918
