How can I get them not to send check in details? I have been a successful host since 2016, doing just fine with sending the instructions myself. When Airbnb sent them somehow, without my knowing, they sent the wrong lockbox number. The guests couldn't get in, they called Airbnb support, who did everything wrong. The guests left for the night, but did not want to cancel. Airbnb cancelled for them anyway, them marked me as having cancelled, for which I lost my Superhost status. I worked it out with the guests, who gladly returned to my home for the remainder of their several week stay. I kept informing Airbnb of this, but they called the guests daily telling them they had to leave! I worked everything out with the guests, everyone was happy. Except that I had to make many phone calls with poorly trained support staff, with no follow up, to finally, finally get my Superhost status reinstated. All this to say: I do not want Airbnb to send my welcome/check in details info to guests!
I just tried to call them, waited half and hour and gave up. Then went onto the chat which wasn't helpful at all. Then they offered to let me contact them by email. But the screen flipped to me being a guest and tried to send a message to a possible host in Brazil.
Ugh, it wasn't broke, why are they trying to fix it? Sorry for the rant, thanks for listening. Is there a way to avoid having Airbnb sending check in messages to my guests? Or at least to send the message that I want to send, which I customize to each guest as necessary.
