Aircover is a SCAM

I had a guest I was forced to host- due to it being a "third party booking" it was Airbnb.org- that I requested to cancel. Because of said third party booking, Airbnb advised me I could not cancel, although I have never canceled before, said I would be faced with a $2,000 fine, lose superhost, and my calendar blocked. I knew this guest would be trouble as JUST joined airbnb and no reviews. I was not able to see their profile prior to booking because Airbnb.org booked on their behalf. Well, just as I suspected they trashed my home. Smoked inside my house for 17 days straight, ruined all my towels, broke my microwave door off, broke my kitchen drawer, broke my dishwasher. Ruined pots and pans, comforters with smoke burns, stained my couches. I needed to pay 3000+ for Ozone treatment and professional cleaning to get the smoke smell out. I have been tossed around with "specialized teams" for weeks. My case comes to a close March 10th- the 30 days- and nothing has been done. I have called daily- 15 times total- just so some low level ambassador can "assign my case to a specialized team" so nothing can be done. No communication at all. When I initially requested to cancel I was "rest assured" everything is covered through aircover and "not to worry." I have never had to use this before, but wow it is a ABSOLUTE SCAM. I am a fantastic host who takes care of my guests. I cant wait until I can find a different outlet other than Airbnb.

Aircover is neither an insurance nor guarantee.

I recommend contacting your insurance company to file a claim.

Hence- it is a scam. Promising the host coverage then denying when needing to use it, is indeed scam behavior. I have contacted LA Times to publish an article on this as from this forum and many others- Reddit, Facebook pages, etc- this scam behavior is an ongoing theme with Airbnb and AirCover.

Contact your states insurance commissioner- in WA Airbnb was forced to review every claim and also appoint a claims adjustment company. Insurance is state regulated and you can’t tell people you are providing it if it doesn’t exist 🙂

Hello,

As you can see from this forum and many others online such as Reddit, Facebook page groups, and like, air cover is an ongoing scam, presented to host as coverage when they deny claims most of the time. I have contacted the LA Times, who is writing an article on this subject. If you are a host who has been negatively affected by air covers scam behavior please contact me. It can be an anonymous and the writer at LA times assures me anonymity due to Airbnb retaliations

Airbnb- if you see this. My

ongoing claim of a guest I was forced to host is continually denied for more than 4K in damages caused by them smoking inside my home, breaking things, stealing things, and the like. You state me helping my handyman- who is well documented in my use of him over years- produce an electronic invoice for services he provided was “misrepresentation”. I never denied helping him produce his invoice, as he is a Spanish speaking only immigrant and does not own a computer. You state my entire claim is denied because of this- yet in emails you state is only for the one invoice. Please contact me so we can rectify this and forgo a negative article to reflect on airbnbs already diminishing platform in the LA area.
