Has anyone struggled to get bookings with an apartment undergoing construction work on the building? I’m looking to list a property but hesitant I won’t receive any occupancy. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Hi @Nicole3950 😊

Thank you for asking this question in the community center.

How long will your work last?

I’m adding some previous conversations in the community about this topic for you:

👉 Anticipated noise due to construction.

👉 What's the best way to inform renters about potential construction noise?

👉 Strategy ideas for neighbours under construction.

I hope this will help. Don’t hesitate to contact the hosts via DM if you would like more information about this!

Warm regards 🌻,

Hi @Nicole3950

In answer to your question it depends how long works are going on for, the nature of the work, how noisy the work is and what hours building work is taking place. Personally I wouldn't book somewhere where building work is going on but others may.

if you do go ahead, then make sure you are clear about this up front in your listing.

Have you   checked  your flat lease to see there are any restrictions against either STRs or running a business . If so you shouldn't be doing it

Also check demand and supply for your sort of listing in your location. Many markets are oversaturated.

I'm in Bristol and many hosts are struggling to get bookings .
