Broken toilet, no oven and broken lock

Hello community!

In our current air BnB we have a broken oven, broken toilet and the screen door to a 5 story balcony is broken. We are staying for 5 nights and unfortunately we weren’t able to find another accommodation within our budget and timeframe. It is not day 4 and none of the issues have been fixed.

We contacted air BnB and they said we can get a 30% discount. However I feel that these issues warrant a bigger compensation? We have to walk about 10 minutes to the nearest public toilet!

Is 30% discount satisfactory and I am confused why this person is able to rent this property out in this state?

@Heather2092 . Hi Heather, as a host I'm always sad to hear this. What were the reviews like before?

WA is a bit late to the short term rental regulations but the laws were to take effect from 1 January so check them out and see if the place you are staying is complying, otherwise report the host to the authorities. https://www.wa.gov.au/organisation/department-of-energy-mines-industry-regulation-and-safety/short-t...

I assume you will give an appropriate detailed Airbnb review to help future guests. A bad review will also put the host on an Issues list which can lead to suspension if it happens too often. You can also report them using the link in your booking. I'd take the 30% and move on.

All the best.
