Calendar Issues

Is Airbnb every going to fix their calendar so that is user friendly again. Not having other synced calendar show up a different color is a massive oversight in development. There also need to be the ability to hover over your dates and see any nots that have been added to those particular dates. Does Airbnb have any plans to change this and make this more user friendly. Thank you

I doubt Airbnb will make it easier to see bookings from another platform on theirs. They formerly had the ability to read notes directly on the calendar but removed that functionality with a software release awhile back. Despite numerous requests from Hosts to restore Notes to the calendar view directly, I doubt that functionality will return either.

 

Airbnb says the calendar syncs only every 2hours automatically (unless using a channel manager). You can manually cause it to refresh sooner. Many Hosts do a manual refresh and double check to make sure the calendars are synced after every booking. Vrbo data is only imported for one year out (Airbnb says they export data for 2yrs, but can't control what other platforms allow them to import). This means if you have an Airbnb reservation 2yrs out, it won't sync with Vrbo apparently; this can cause a double booking if you open your Airbnb calendar for more than one year.

Yeah I'm not sure why they would want to cause issue and run the chance of HOST getting upset and leaving their platform. It would be in their best interest to make all the functions user friendly so that everyone is happy. The one thing I really don't understand is if I do "Block" and add notes within their system it's still doesn't show as a different color or anything and you have to dig to find your note. Really makes no sense to me. Really wish they would make a change on a couple of things and this calendar issue being the biggest. @Airbnb

Agree. One other thing to mention, if you add a note to the calendar date, it will no longer be visible after the date passes...you'll won't be able to see it. So say you add a note to a date for your cleaning team, or add a note to a date from a reservation imported from another platform, it will no longer be available to view after the date has passed. You may be able to have functionality for notes if using a channel manager.

 

You can add a note to an actual Airbnb reservation in the reservation details and that will stay attached and be retrievable after a date has passed. Add the note to the reservation itself.
