I'm travelling next summer with a group of friends to South Korea and the oldest member of the group (myself) is 18 years old. I know that South-Korean hotels do not let people under 19 check-in so I'm wondering if with Airbnb I can check in despite being a minor according to South-Korean law.
@Z31 Technically unless there is a rule in the listing limiting check in age you should be fine. But it is risky so I would message the host after/before booking to check they areOK with your age.
I'd recommend a message to the prospective host before requesting a booking. That can be done with an "inquiry" to the host. Best to not surprise them - rather, work together. Many hosts are not keen on under 21/25 guests, especially in groups. May your trip be amazing!
Hello @Z31, welcome to our community.
Have you contacted the Host to get more information about this, as suggested by our Hosts?
Please keep us posted 😊
Hey Z31, I am in the exact situation that you were in and after messaging some places in Seoul and Busan I go no for an answer given the legal age for an adult is 19. Although I was able to find a place in Jeju island that said it would not be an issue. Were you able to find any places that allows you guys to go?
Hi @John8971,
When are you heading to South Korea? I'll mention @Z31 for you here so they receive a notification of your message, and can hopefully come back to share more insights on their experience.
I hope this helps 🙂
Emilie
