Cancellation by the host

Hi

I got a message from the host who asked me to cancel my booking.

Is this normal? I got charged the full amount. And I know if I am the one who cancelled less than 24h, I get charged the full amount. What is the situation now?

Why is the host asking you to cancel?

When did you book it (you usually have 48 hours from moment of booking to cancel with no penalty).

If this time passed, and the host is asking you to cancel because HE/ SHE has a problem, that is not correct. The HOST should be the one to cancel.

If they are asking you to cancel because you are not a good fit of for the house (for example, house can only accommodate 3 people, and you want to bring 5 - just an example, as we do not have enough information on your message), than yes, you should cancel it.

They said there was a problem in the system that showed the place is available while it’s not. Anyways, Airbnb sorted it out and returned the full refund.
