Can someone please tell me what Air B'nB cancellation policy is...regarding how many days before arrival can a guest cancel.

Dear Isabel,

Regarding short stays there are 4 options with below restrictions and cancelation dates:

And last but not least 🙂 cancellation policy is connected to your rate plans, or only for specific dates, so you are able to combine different ones.

It depends on the host’s cancellation policy. Flexible, Moderate, Limited, and Firm all have different deadlines for cancellation.

Airbnb actually has different cancellation policies, and the deadline depends on which one the host chooses for their listing. Here’s a clear breakdown:


Flexible

  • Full refund if cancelled up to 24 hours before check-in

 Moderate

  • Full refund if cancelled up to 5 days before check-in

 Strict

  • 50% refund if cancelled up to 7 days before check-in
  • After that, the refund is very limited

 Firm (less common but used more recently)

  • Full refund if cancelled up to 30 days before check-in
  • 50% refund up to 7 days before check-in

 Important to know

  • The host chooses the policy, so it varies from listing to listing
  • Guests always see the exact cancellation terms before booking
  • Once you book, you’re agreeing to that specific policy

 Practical tip

If flexibility is important to you, always check:  the cancellation section on the listing before confirming

Just to add—Airbnb actually has different cancellation policies (Flexible, Moderate, Strict, etc.), and the number of days a guest can cancel depends on which policy you’ve selected for your listing.
