Has anyone noticed a slow down compared to this time last year?
Buongiorno @Nancy2336 ,
yes, I did see a slow down this year. My listing is in Venice (Italy) and most of my guests come from the USA

What's supply and demand like for your sort of listing in your area ? @Andrea6232
Many locations are suffering from oversaturated markets.
Buongiorno @Helen3 ,
Venice has historically always been a high demand market, as well as supply.
As far as I'm concerned, I believe the slow down in bookings is mainly due to the fact that lately the positioning algorithm tends to favor low prices and the total number of reviews ... in short, quantity but not quality 😥

I do love Venice @Andrea6232 so will definitely look at your listing .
airbnb's algorithm covers many factors (have a look at the Airbnb Help website for a list of these).
a high number of decent reviews does help but is only one of many factors .
early availability is another
prices don't factor
Do look at supply and demand for your sort of listing it's definitely likely to be a key factor .
I know by heart the search factors indicated by Airbnb https://www.airbnb.it/help/article/39
And I can tell you that unfortunately the price counts a lot, so listings with low prices (and lower quality) are favored
And this is a shame ...
Sorry I was just trying to help @Andrea6232 .
In my location I regularly check my rankings and in my city it's always been the case that factors like early availability pushes listings up the rankings and listings of all pricing show at the top not just the cheapest .
don't worry @Helen3 I really appreciate your frankness 😉
In Venice there are thousands of listings and if you try to do a blind search without setting filters you will notice that the price factor is decisive
I feel like that's the case here as well.
