Early address

I'm new to hosting but the trouble I've had twice now is guest ordering stuff to the address  before they arrive and want me or other guests to accommodate there packages with advance notice.

I'm normally not at the resident, if I'm cleaning or mowing or in between guest it wouldn't be a big deal. But the trucks just leave what ever package there is on front porch don't knock and you don't sign for them either so you really don't see anyone to decline packages

Hi @Brent460  -  this happens to us fairly frequently, guests have a delivery and it either goes wayward, like delivered incorrectly as GPS and private roads abound and the guest didn't account for that, or arrives after their departure and like your case or arriving prior to their reservation start.

For us the pre-delivery is an issue with groceries for the most part and since AIRBNB is pushing grocery delivery, it's something to consider.

In our case, we let guests know that we don't have the staff to go after mis-delivered items or items that arrive after their check out.

For grocery deliveries we say that it is not possible for groceries to be managed prior to check in as we don't have a seperate spot to store nor the staff to manage. And we even have to say that a grocery delivery to the entrance is not advised due to wildlife (like getting a delivery prior to arriving but after their check in time starts)

This happened enough times to try and manage as well.

Good luck!

Hi @Greystone0 😊,

You have such a comprehensive approach. Thank you for sharing it here!

Have you added your delivery policy directly to your house rules or do you communicate it through your automated messages before check-in?
