Four (4) Listings Suspended Because Unfounded Guest Suspicion

Two days ago, on a Wednesday afternoon, I was updating some information on one of our 4 Airbnb listings. I clicked the calendar and noticed that all of our listings had been suspended/unlisted!! All un-booked future dates were permanently blocked!

 

I called Airbnb Support and selected the option for them to call me back in 20 minutes. After 30 minutes, I called again and waited on the phone for 20+ minutes and talked to an Agent. The Agent told me I would receive an email the next day! Fortunately, during the call the Agent inadvertently said the first name of the guest at one of our properties. This guest had been there for nearly 30 of their scheduled 40 days. I had followed up with them regularly asking them to please let us know if they need anything. All conversations were very positive. The guest said they may depart before the end date and I asked them to let me know when they knew the day they would leave.

 

I texted the guest and asked, "Did you contact Airbnb about any issues?"

 

The guest said, "My brother did about what he thought was a camera, but I apologized to air bnb team as I looked at his concern. The RoHS cap in the bathroom vent spooked him"

 

I asked her to contact Airbnb, which she did and the next morning, our listings were back to normal.

 

But, there was no warning, no text, no email from Airbnb before during or after, and it's now Friday afternoon.

Thats airbnb's shoot first policy in action, see how easy it is to get shut down, Im reluctant to call airbnb for anything just in case one them CS reps gets the hump.

 

You was lucky they mentioned there name, imagine if they hadn't you would have been tearing your hair out.

 

Dont rely on airbnb 100% have a back up plan in place,
