Fraudulent Charges

I saw this posted on another community thread, so not sure how widespread this problem is. 

I made two recent bookings with Airbnb, charges came through on the card, all good. 

I'm between those legitimate charges was a smaller charge from Airbnb, almost missed it. I looked at my credit card statement and there is a confirmation number on the transaction info. I matched the other charges to my real confirmation charges, except for the one with the smaller amount, it's not tied to any booking, plus a weird amount. 

I called support. The agent was initially helpful, but I think the issue required supervisor intervention so he asked to call back. 

But I then got a support message asking for more personal info than I was comfortable divulging. (I already provided a lot of info on the call to verify myself and account)

He asked if I knew the name "Luxury Retreats." I don't. 

What's my next move?

It seems like this might be a commonish scam based on a thread I found.

Haven’t seen anything here on the forum concerning the company you mention

Airbnb have recently introduced transaction charges when the booking is in one currency but the guest pays with a different currency ?  No chance this is the case for you?

if you go onto the reservations on Airbnb and on transaction history, is there any useful information there?

No, definitely not the case here. My pending reservations are both domestic and like I said, the transaction info on the charge contains a reservation number from Airbnb that doesn't match any bookings that I have. 

If you just Google "fraudulent charges Airbnb" there are multiple threads that pop up in this community and on Reddit.

It doesn't look like Airbnb has successfully intervened in any of these cases.

It almost sounds like an Aircover claim from a previous booking or a charge for some sort of extra service or late checkout fee? It you're not willing to provide the information Airbnb is asking for, you might never find out where the charge is from and have no way to determine if it is fraudulent or not.
