Arrived at this Airbnb - arrived around 5pm. I brought all my luggage up the flight of stairs (several trips), unpacked groceries into fridge, and started settling in. I sat on the couch to answer texts and found out plans changed and I will be checking out 4 days early. I messaged host. They said no refunds. I checked the cancelation policy and understood I’d only get 50% back for nights not stayed (totally fine with this policy, I sent a message to the host as heads up). That’s when I realized the floor at my feet had crumbs and was not clean. I swept the living room and kitchen floors (two piles of dirt - pictures sent to host). The pool area (just outside the living room window) was loud but knew that should end with nightfall (it didn’t - noise continued until 9:15. I also heard what sounded like fireworks (but didn’t see fireworks)… (that’s when I messaged the host again and said the apartment wasn’t what I was expecting between the lack of cleanliness and noise level and I planned to leave the next morning and find a hotel). Host was ok with my cancelation and I agreed to be out by 10am). I didn’t unpack and had everything stacked on the chair and bed in bedroom and a few items right near the front door. I was about to grab items to take a shower at 9:15pm and saw a bug on the wall. I ran to the kitchen for a paper towel and squished the COCKROACH (pictures sent to host). I was in a panic. I left the cockroach and paper towel on the floor, grabbed all my luggage and bags, loaded my car in several hurried trips, threw away the refrigerated food (knowing they wouldn’t keep in my car) and messaged the host that I was leaving immediately and asked for a FULL refund due to the pest issue (that I now have to worry about being in my bags). I sent a message to Airbnb support and canceled my reservation on the app. I called 7-8 hotels wein the area. All booked. So had to stay in my car at a local hotel parking garage. After all this, all the pictures, several communications, the host REFUSED my request for a full refund. Thoughts?
