Getting Personal Account Number(PAN) Validation Failed during reservation

Getting Personal Account Number(PAN) Validation Failed during reservation

Hi. I'm from India and trying to book an accomodation in a place in Europe. Once I click on reserve, it's asking for PAN details. Everytime I give it, I get an error - PAN Validation Failed and unable to enter any further details. I tried multiple times and my husband also tried from his account. Nothing is working.

I'm unable to make any booking from Airbnb now. Anyone faced this issue and if so, how was it resolved ? Please help

Hi Aishwarya, I am facing a similar issue. Please let me know how you resolved it

It didn't allow me. Airbnb is clueless about this and conveniently asked to check with Razorpay.

I have a friend joining me from Germany. She booked for all of us now. From India, it's impossible to book unless this issue is resolved.

Hi @Aiswarya1@Susheel9, and @Gokulakrishnan1 - are you still affected by this?

I am not an expert, nor am I part of customer support, but why don't you give the following steps a try to see if they work for you?

  • Log out from all affected devices/browsers.
  • Close all browser windows/tabs on all affected devices/browsers.
  • Open a single new window on all affected devices/browsers.
  • Clear cache, cookies, and browser history on all affected devices/browsers.
  • If applicable, delete and reinstall the app.
  • Log in using the EMAIL_FROM_ACCOUNT_

Looking forward to know if you've managed to solve the issue,

Umberto 😊

In my opinion, this PAN validation has nothing to do with the browser, rather its RazorPay

In the same browser and with same settings, my co-passenger's PAN is getting validated by RazorPay

Hi @Aiswarya1 and @Rajesh141

I'm sorry to hear you were both experiencing some issues booking this weekend! Have you managed to resolved since then, or do you need more help?

If it is still happening, it would be great if you could tell us a bit more about what you have tried (using different devices, app or browser, delete cookies, etc). I would also recommend you reach out to customer support on this page www.airbnb.com/help/contact-us/ , and they will be best placed to look into it further for you.

Let us know how you're getting on please! 🙂

Thanks,

Emilie

Even I'm trying to book a rental in Paris from India and Razor Pay's PAN Validation is getting failed. Tried multiple times but with failure. Did you bypass this step?

It won't work until Airbnb works on it. They don't even understand the problem even after explaining multiple times. All they say is try after sometime or clear your cache.

If you have friends joining your trip from outside India, ask them to book.

Thanks. Yes, they are unable to understand it.

Yes, its a worst customer experience

Luckily another traveller's (India) PAN card got validated. We don't know the algorithm behind it though

I am facing the exact same problem. Can someone please resolve this ???!!!

I am facing this issue too, and despite explaining everything to the Airbnb folks they seem to still give the same old legacy reason for my booking not going through. Razorpay needs to integrate a PAN validation API to validate PAN for us, seems like a step they forgot to integrate when they got this deal with Airbnb.

I will now have to book a hotel instead!

I also have the same problem

@Airbnb yo, you need to fix? I'm based in Mexico at the moment and trying to book accommodation in Chile. I have tried with two PAN Cards and both the times and on two different devices (phone and computer) and its failed all the times.

The error codes from the console are something like this -

400 Bad request.

The most annoying thing is, the booking gets blocked for a while and we can't even retry.
