Guest ID is missing

Guest ID is missing

I have a request which I have approved. There is a red flag on the guest profile “guest ID is missing”. The guest has x number of hours to produce and upload an ID or the booking will be cancelled by airbnb.

 

If guests need an ID, how does this person have a dozen 5* reviews? How did they get bookings?

Sometimes guest are asked by Airbnb to verify their ID again.

A reason can be: the current ID is not valid anymore.

 

I think @Emiel1 is right @Andrea9256 , in some countries ID documents expire and have to be renewed. Also, if the past bookings are quite old, Airbnb didn't require ID right from the time it started.

@Shelley159 She joined in 2015 and travelled several times every year since and last year in my area. She withdrew the request, that’s what airbnb is telling me. 

i don’t want to make it harder to book but I also want legit guests. The reviews are good.

is there a setting anywhere to allow booking without ID, or is it a strict airbnb rule? 

she saw the message from airbnb that it was cancelled and refunded. She updated her ID and was mortified that this caused me trouble. 

 

It didn’t. It’s all good. She rebooked and it’s confirmed.
