Guest complaining about pool being too hot in August (Palm Springs)

I have a ( first time guest - has no reviews) that has been complaining about the pool being too hot. Guest is saying it’s too warm for them to enjoy. The weather is 100 degrees and the pool is around 80-85 degrees. Typically August in Palm Springs can result in 120 degree weather with pools heating up to 100 degrees so it could be way hotter.
Backstory on the guest is they arrived and the air conditioning wasn’t cool enough. I had someone go right over and adjust it for her - it was 82 degrees inside and it should be set to 74. I apologized profusely and had Uber eats drop off some ice cream sandwiches from cold stone creamery as an apology. Based on her messages to me, I am certain that the guest is angling for a discount - she comments that it sucks she has to wait 15 minutes for someone to come look at the air conditioning and it’s a bummer that the pool hasn’t cooled down any even though I mentioned it should cool some over night. I do not feel I owe a refund and I am wondering how to politely phrase  that it is out of my control that the pool is too warm for her. Our pool tech told her upon check in that he isn’t able to cool the pool down and most guests actually pay to heat the pool to the temperature she is currently complaining about.
Any advise is appreciated!

@Leah436 I wouldn't even worry about this one. Update the listing that the pool gets warm in the summer. I personally would issue some kind of discount for a minor service call, if it was a host responsibility, and forget about it. That's why its important to get good rating when you can with things you can control.

I also have a Palm Springs home, and had one guest that AC wasn’t cooling down fast enough, and another with the pool being too hot. We let our guests control the AC, and it broke on one of those 110+ days. We had a technician out same day, but refunded guest one night plus some for the inconvenience. Obviously my AC was not working for a few hours resulting in indoor temperature of 80 degrees, so slightly different than 15 minutes. With the “pool too hot” comment, it’s really just about educating the guest that it is naturally heated.  Best of luck!

On a similar note, many of our north American guests (when they were allowed to visit) would message me asking where the A/C was. I'd tell them it was the "big glass thing opposite the bed". Yes, the window.

Unless you're a Russian oligarch in London, it's highly unlikely you'll have A/C. For the week of scorchio weather we get here and there, it's just not practical (or affordable).

We moan about it, yes (Brits are obsessed the heat/cold/rain/sun and snow), but the weather is what it its and we get on with it.
