Guest contact information

Guest contact information

I just listed my cabin on Airbnb in January of this year.

As reservations were booked, I was shocked to see that

contact information was not given when the calendar was blocked

and guest paid. It is necessary to ask the guest!!

Is that the policy? The owner should have the

information of all adults who are going to be on their property.

That's fine as I said just add it to your house rules and request on booking @Mary-Jane40

If you use Airbnb you aren't provided with the guests contact information apart from their phone number which you can see on your booking confirmation @Mary-Jane40

If you want additional information you need to state this in your house rules and ask for it when guests book.

I've been hosting for nine years and have never required a guests address yet.?

Thank you for the answer.  I want email address and mobile phone number of every adult at my property - and do not see any reason that these be

hidden or withheld for the property owner.

@Mary-Jane40 It is sometimes a fine line between being intrusive and protecting your property Mary Jane. I suggest to you that the main reason most people require ID is simply to ascertain if the photo on their ids match their faces. This can be shown to you on arrival if you greet your guests.
The best protection for both you and your house is to communicate with your main guest openly and honestly and clearly ,as the buck stops with them , greet your guests , check your numbers and do your due diligence. If there is no information forthcoming from your guest early on then consider if this is a 'red flag' because not giving you full disclosed ID is not necessarily a red flag . The job of a host does require 'talking to a guest and acquiring the info you need without ever breaking your stride. Its a skill... Good Luck .... Its as simple as ' where are you folks from'  or ' what brings you into town'.... H

@Mary-Jane40 Hello Mary jane . firstly Mary Jane make sure you put your request for full id of all guests in your 'house rules'. then if you desire a quick message via messaging should bring some response from your guest . If no reply then use the phone number which is supplied . To add to the information that is supplied . Use your desk top and check a little more closely because some information at least is automatically disclosed,,,reviews etcetera and at least the main guests name , but yes it is not full disclosure . If you need more you have to ask ......Be polite and simply request the information you would like. Keep it simple ..... H
