Guests charged their car without asking and it is stated in the rulebook that the driveway is not permitted to be parked.

So I own an Airbnb that is connected to the main house of mine. I drive a Prius so it charges at night and I have specified in the listing there is no parking in the drive way. The driveway is where I park my car and my families car, doesn't block their access at all. Tonight I came back around 2am and I see my guest's tesla model 3 in my parking spot and then I see it connected to my charger! It is a super big inconvenience and we told them to look at the map we provide on where to park twice already. We don't allow any type of EV parking charging especially overnight! They started charging estimated time around 11pm and who knows when they will get up and move their car! How much should I charge? Just for the hosts, I live in San Jose, CALIFORNIA!

I would have contacted the guest straight away and asked them to remove their car from your parking spot and reminded them and that it clearly shows in your house rules (presume this is the case) that you don't allow guests to use your EV charger.

You can also send a request for payment to the guest for the electricity they have used.

What do you think of Helen's advice? What did you decide to do?
