**HEADS UP - New Category "Accessibility"

Just a heads up to those Hosts that have accessible listings. It appears there is a new category "Accessibility" (I don't remember seeing this before):

However, this category is auto-generated by Airbnb and is not selectable by a Host. Those Hosts with fully accessible listings probably should check if they have been added to this category. If not, then maybe update your description, photos/captions to refer to the fact that your listing is accessible. I would add photos of the accessibility features if you don't have them currently.

@Susanne746 @Mandrake-And-Karen0 I believe this might be of interest to you, were you aware of it yet? 🙂

Unfortunately, it looks like @Mandrake-And-Karen0 has removed their listing from Airbnb. She had mentioned that they were considering that due to all the issues surrounding Airbnb removing previously awarded categories in Accessibility (and deleting the photos), requiring them to re-apply and upload photos again. This was done without nofifying the Hosting community of the changes to the Accessibility features and advising Hosts their photos and status under Accessibilty for step-free access would be removed by Airbnb. Many Hosts are still not aware this has been done to their listings without nofification. This was in addition to all the issues with the King Bed Filter not working correctly and the free parking filter as well.

Thanks for the heads up on Airbnb adding a new category.  It seems misleading if these are for units that are not in meeting ADA qualifications for completely accessible housing codes.  We had some of the accessibility features added back by Airbnb a few weeks ago. Thanks for highlighting the issues on Accessibility, king bed and misalignment between host amenity listing options and guest search filters for accessibility featuress, lit path and free street parking. We haven't removed our listing, there's no need.  We just continue to not use Airbnb as our primary source for marketing and income due to all of these issues.  Could you please do a search now and let me know if our listing is still not showing?   Thanks, Joan!

@Mandrake-And-Karen0

Yes, I see it today (wasn't there yesterday)?  It's on page two in the 8th position. I do see your 10-day minimum, so i did the search using 10days booking period:

Thanks for letting me know about our listing and the new Accessibility category.  Were you doing a search in a specific region when you noticed the new category? Wondering if it is only appearing in regions that guests are searching that my have completely ADA Accessible rentals? Wondering if Airbnb is cherry picking in what areas it includes an Accessibility feature based on the numbers of rentals that may have them in order for the category to be relevent.

@Mandrake-And-Karen0

This category is not "selectable" on Elevate. It is auto generated by Airbnb and not sure what the criteria is. I do not see it added at the top of search yet with the other categories. I do see "Adaptable" in some locations as a category, but not sure if that is what Airbnb is using connected to "Accessibility" or not?

PS...don't forget to add @ when replying and choose a name of whom you are responding to....otherwise, I won't get a notification 😊

Hmm...this category is not showing up on my desk top when I opened up the Airbnb page. Interesting.
