Help needed please!!!

I am a new host who just had my first guest check out after a 2 month stay.  I never had any complaints from her the whole time she was here.  She left a note saying her laptop had been stolen.  I asked if she had filed a police report and she said yes.  I went to the police station and there was no report made.

She also took a basket full of items that she had thanked me for the first day.  I had explained that she should use what she needed and leave the rest for the next guest.  I asked her if she had accidently taken the basket and if so could she return (she is staying another month at another airbnb).

She became upset and says I have to pay for her computer and that she is going to leave a bad review. She is complaining about all kinds of things.  Saying my home is in the ghetto and unsafe. We live in a safe neighborhood, this is my home I live in and a great place.

I do not believe someone stole her computer. I have a gate on my front door and lock on the fence.  There are alarms on the back doors to the pool.

I don't know what to do.  I reported to airbnb and asked them to call have not heard anything.  Should I file a police report?? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

@Leisa23  What would you file a police report about?

This woman is a scammer. Do not communicate any further with her.

You might ask her to forward a copy of the police report.

Other than that I would ignore her and not get involved in further argument.

@Leisa23I second what Sarah says. Don’t engage further with this person.

If by chance she has made a review extortion threat on the messaging platform, you can ask to have her review removed. Hopefully she will just move on though.
