@lucy from Richmond Texas. I want to express how awful it was for you to cancel a reservation booked weeks in advance of my group and I traveling to Houston this past weekend to only receive a notification that the home was cancelled by you as we landed with no valid explanation. This caused an entire day of searching for new accommodations. I honestly wish you could understand the anxiety and the additional financial expense of trying to find accommodations last minute during one of the busiest weekends in Houston. I pray that someone takes a look into this situation and for hosts to not list properties if they do not wish to rent. Did I mention we are all women stranded in a city we've never been too, just horrible!!!!!
So sorry to hear about your experience in Houston! That's definitely not the way anyone would want to start a trip.
I just wanted to let you know that the Community Center is generally a space for Hosts to support and help each other with Host-related issues, it's not a formal branch of Airbnb Support.
Were you able to get in touch with customer service about the circumstances?
@Kim4055 this is a community group Kim , nothing to do with cancelling your reservation .I have zero idea why your reservation was cancelled . Maybe get in touch with Airbnb proper and let them know about this. If a host cancelled on you that close to your reservation then they should have had a serious reason . Did they say? and also in this case Airbnb should have assisted to find you alternative accommodation plus full refund. As well as that the host should have been fined and those days made unavailable for renting to others. Please believe me when I say this is not a normal situation and that yes you have very good reason to be upset . Contact Airbnb .. all the best... H
