Host with guests that are being difficult and pushing boundaries

Hi - I am a superhost based in Bristol.  I have been hosting for many, many years and have had in general very lovely guests, however my current guests are really bothering me and I'm not sure if I'm being too sensitive!!.  I live next door to the Airbnb property.  The guy is giving me the creeps, his partner is out all day at work and he is in the property - using the front garden which is not part of the property, using the hosepipe to wash his bike, not putting it away just leaving it in a heap,  He put up the washing line by laying it on the floor to hang out washing, left it there and the cover on the floor which blow onto seedling I have been growing for two months.  They arrived with a really large transit van that they don't seem to be able to drive, taking many attempts to get it onto the driveway to the point I have had to move my car off the drive.  I don't know if I am being silly or if these people are just taking the piss!!  Any thoughts would be appreciated as I am on my own (locked in my house)  Thanks

Hi @MaryJane8

From a fellow host in Bristol. When you accepted the booking did the guests say why they were coming to Bristol? You can't really say anything about the guy being in all the time as they have booked the space.

however in your shoes if he's not allowed access to the front garden you can remind him on this and that if he's wants to use the hosepipe he must put it away after use. .

i leave my clothes line up during the summer months so there isn't a cover for the guests to worry about.

if they can't park the van on your drive away safely so you can still use it I would ask them to park on the street.

hope it all works out for you.

Hi @MaryJane8

If it's any consolation, it doesn't sound terrible compared to many of the issues that we read about here! I wouldn't worry, for example, about a guest leaving a hosepipe in a heap. Having said that, it's hard for me to picture the situation. How long are they staying for?
