How to remove cigarette smell??

Hi,

A recent guest decided to smoke multiple PACKS of cigarette inside the unit despite clear NO SMOKING sign.   We cleaned everything, the furniture, floor, doors, entire kitchen, washed the curtains, but there is still a smell!

The following guests demanded a cash compensation, I sent him 40 USD.   

How do you get rid of cigarette smell once and for all?  Any professional companies providing this in Manila, Philippines?

Future guests will cancel their bookings because of this one pig !

Hi @Nick593 Hosting here in Manila too. I suggest to open all windows and doors, and run exhaust fans. If possible, use fans to push stale air outside. Clean the air conditioner filters right away.

Yeah but unfortunately that does not work, because the tar in cigarette smoke attaches to everything, including curtains and paint, and getting rid of that smell would basically require scraping the paint off and then re-painting the entire place. 

A place can smell of cigarette 15 years after a heavy smoker moved out.

@Nick593   We use an ozone machine to help remove odors.  Amazon sells them for less than $100, but I don't know if they would be available to you in the Philippines.

Hi @Nick593  - not from your area, so apologies for jumping in, plus it's a little late, but nonetheless:

- we use a product called "Zero odor" and this has really saved us - it's a spray that you can use quite liberally to eliminate odors. We've used for cigarette smell, woodsmoke smell, cologne, cooking smell. You should be able to google and order to any location (I think).

- we keep an airprifier on hand and this helps a lot as well.

- and finally, the old fashioned baking soda  in bowls and then just placed all over for a few days is something that works. baking soda rubbed on upholstery/fabric and then vacuumed up is also helpful. Baking soda paste on other surfaces and let sit is also helpful.

Understand from your posts that it is extreme - but perhaps something useful shared here.
