@community In response to Covid-19 potential Airbnb guests understandably have concerns about safety, for which Airbnb has created a detailed "enhanced cleaning" protocol. I view certain elements of the protocol to be completely impractical: as examples, the washing of every dish, etc. (we provide a service for 8, with multiple kinds of glasses, and a fully-equipped kitchen), and the taking down, washing, and rehanging of a cloth shower curtain -- after every reservation. I cannot say at this point that I am able to commit to it.
In support of guest safety, I am choosing to provide for a 72-hr buffer between reservations, in addition to usual fastidious cleaning plus disinfection of high-touch surfaces. This 72-hr buffer results in a significant financial hit. I am doing it anyway.
Currently, since I have not signed onto the "enhanced cleaning" protocol, a potential guest who is looking at listings is not alerted on my site to the big commitment I am making to support safety. (This commitment is in fact the only commitment that Airbnb can verify.). I have put in a request via "feedback" that Airbnb highlight the 72-hr host commitment as a safety measure; I have yet to get a reply. I am wondering if there are others in my situation who want recognition for "passive decontamination"?
