New heads up, if you book an Air B&B for a concert. If the owner of the air b&B finds out its a popular concert weekend, they can cancel your booking 2 weeks before the event, and re-list it for 3x the price... happened to us twice now! They of course made false claims that they are "updating the room", however they have been booked for 5 months. The one before was booked for 4 months. Customer service has taken their side as a host. I will make sure absolutely everyone I know, hears this garbage and ridiculous experience.

Hi @Thomas3906

If a host cancels without good reason, they will most likely have their calendar blocked on Airbnb for those dates, and it also counts against them in algorithms and in their Superhost status. It is certainly very short-sighted for a host to cancel just to try and get a better price for a once-off booking. Also - in theory - if they have smart-pricing turned on, the prices should automatically have followed market trends, and you would have paid a market-related price in the first place. If they genuinely canceled to try their luck for a better price, it was probably not a good move for them.
