Let's solve the problem together.

Let's solve the problem together.

Bendiciones.

Google Translation added by Community Manager:

You're in the middle of a stay and a guest writes to you because something didn't meet their expectations.

What would be the first thing you would do?

Tell us in the comments how you would handle the situation. The idea is to compare strategies and learn from each other, because often a good response can completely change a guest's experience.

My example:

If a guest tells me they were expecting something different, I would first respond calmly, thank them for letting me know, and try to understand exactly what they need. Then I would look for a concrete and quick solution. Sometimes, feeling heard is the first step in turning annoyance into trust.

Blessings.

Completely agree, Imilka! As a host running a property for the last 7 years with over 100 guests welcomed, I've learned that fast communication and empathy change everything.
The very first thing I do is validate their concern immediately without getting defensive. I thank them for bringing it to my attention and take swift action. If it is a physical issue—like a minor utility or appliance glitch—I ensure my team or I address it within two hours.
I also believe in having a backup surprise. If something cannot be fixed instantly, offering a small token of hospitality (like a complimentary local meal or a small discount) shows the guest you genuinely care. When a guest feels heard and sees you putting in real effort, a complaint almost always transforms into a 5-star review!
