Hubby and I are building a backyard cottage for Airbnb hosting. It will be two stories for a total of 16 feet tall per city ordinance. This gives us only 7 feet per floor for ceiling height. The entry/living area will be 16 feet as the loft only reaches half way through the house. Leaving the kitchen, bath, and loft bedroom with 7 foot ceilings. Will this significantly effect our hosting/occupancy? Thank you for your replies!
It depends where you are situated and how big the demand is. @Lucy738
7 feet is not much.
Is it not permitted to start a little deeper in the ground so that you can create higher ceilings?
Unfortunately no, 16 feet is the highest.
