Hi @Shreya86  😊

Thank you for asking this question here!

Which country are you going to stay in?

Our hosts shared great answer with you. Did you get a chance to review it?

I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Warm regards 🌻

You may like to use related key words in the Search box and find further information in there.

The legal word is "May" not "will".

There's also many other options available how to Identify oneself just like in Golden Olden days including introducing yourself in person.

Some people don't have the means to copy and send documents using E-Commerce for whatever reason or prefer to retain there Biometric rights offline to third parties outside of Government departments who issue and require such Documents.

Did the person requesting your copy of Passport explain what purpose other than to Identify you they require to see and have a copy of your photo?

Did they inform you where and how long they will store it?

Look up and familiarise your Privacy Rights as there's helpful information in there archives.

All the best for a pleasant stay.
