Payments

Good day

I am new to the Airbnb program.  We had a quest that stayed with us and his payment shows as "on hold" on the portal.  What does this mean?

Regards

Shirma

Hi @Lecinda0

Unfortunately I'm just a host so I can't check for you. To receive Airbnb payments into an account in South Africa, you must sign a Reserve Bank mandate online each year.

Here's the text of the email I received from Airbnb on 17 December:

What you need to know

  1. You will get an email from Bidvest Bank regarding the form for 2025 in the coming weeks.
  2. The form is valid for one calendar year, so you’ll need to complete it even if you signed one last year.
  3. The name and account type (individual or business) on your Airbnb payout method needs to exactly match the name and account type of your bank account or Bidvest will not accept the form.
  4. If you don’t complete the SARB form, Airbnb will be unable to complete the payment and your payout method will be set to error status. You will need to add your payout method again and complete the form.
  5. For more information about the SARB form please visit the Help Center.

You should search your inbox around December for a message like this from Airbnb and for a message from Bidvest. If you don't find it, use the contact information at the bottom of this Help Center article to request a mandate:

Hi @Lecinda0

Can you remember whether you've completed the Reserve Bank reporting mandate for 2025? It's one possible reason for the hold if you haven't done so yet.

Morning Shelley

I only started in December so I am not sure about the mandate.  Can you please check for me and let me know what and where I should complete this?
