Hi Everyone,
I am a new host and just had a wonderful guest stay. I went to clean the area and found a pair of his underwear hanging over the shower.
I have two options: (LOL)
1. Text him and tell him he left his underwear and ask him what he would like me to do with them. ( I don't want to embarrass him)
2. Ignore the underwear, throw them away and hope if does not notice?
So this is my dilemma. Any comments?
Thanks, Debbie Harris

You are right, I would not want to box them up. I ended up throwing them away.
Thanks for your advice.
I certainly wouldn't contact a guest about a pair of underwear they left at your place. You will have much more amusing/bizarre things left at your listing @Debbie1177
If a guest leaves something that looks sentimental /expensive then I say they can arrange pre paid delivery to collect the item.
If you contacted your guest and told them they left under wear, would you really want to box them up and then go to mail underwear?
I would contact the guest if it was jewelry etc…

Unless they were lined with gold I would unceremoniously throw them in the garbage can and never give it another thought. If they were female underwear however I must admit wouldn't be so rough, but still they would end up in the same can, but in that case would be not to mention it not to embarrass her by bringing the subject up.
Thanks for your advice.
@Debbie1177 What you should do rather depends on the applicable law in your locale as well as any moral considerations.
We generally throw low value left items in a cupboard and then dispose of them after 6 months or so. Only if an item has value or potentially sentimental value (like a childs blanket/toy) do we actually contact the guest.
Thanks for your advice.
