Hi @Christy430,
Absolutely love your post — you’ve hit on so many great points that resonate with both guests and thoughtful hosts. The current filter system on Airbnb really doesn’t reflect the way people search for experiences or comfort anymore — it’s far too basic for today’s expectations.
I completely agree that being able to search by details like:
Soaking tubs or spa-style bathrooms
Comfortable lounge furniture (deep couches, reading nooks!)
Walkability to local gems like cafés or bakeries
Shaded outdoor areas or even “sunset view” filters
Solitude or privacy (without scrolling 50 listings to find it)
Ground-floor accessibility for elderly guests
Historic or vintage-style homes
…would make the experience so much more intuitive for guests — and help hosts highlight these valuable features they’ve carefully invested in.
I also second @Andrea6232's point — sorting by star rating or review keywords would go a long way in surfacing quality, guest-loved listings without endless clicking.
Hopefully Airbnb takes note. You’ve just written the wishlist a lot of us didn’t realize we needed!
