Repeat guests

Hi! Does anyone know whether there is a way through the app to identify guests as repeat guests?  Thx!

We keep a spreadsheet of guest info (dates, revenue, occupancy, our relevant notes, etc) and so we can cross reference a guest name. We are the second owners of our home (owned since 2020) and a few times we have had guests identify themselves as having stayed prior but it just wasn't under our ownership. 

 

I am unaware of a method of AIRBNB identifying a guest as a repeat though.  Often, our guest acknowledges a previous stay and so that initiates things in general.   We can scroll all the way back to our first AIRBNB guest so we have that info in our message board as well, for us that goes back to 2020. Helen mentions message threads being deleted, which perhaps is for older messages than what we have?

Airbnb used to preserve message threads from previous guests, but they don't do that anymore after they updated the message system recently.

 

As far as I know, the only way to know if it is repeat guest is by them telling you they have stayed before, reviewing all your reservations, or keeping track of guest names yourself. 

 

Perhaps another Host can chime in if they have other ideas?

Hi @Ed462 , that's a great question! As @Joan2709  and @Greystone0 noted, unfortunately the app doesn't have a specific feature that allows you to identify repeat guests directly. However, they've also shared a few work arounds. Are you planning to try them out? 

 

I guess past reservations could be a good location to identify repeat guests. What do you think?
