Scammed by SKYLINE MANOR

My family (2 adults, 5 children) stayed at Skyline Manor in Newark, NJ from April 14–17. During our stay, the stove constantly emitted smoke, which I reported to the host. He assured me not to worry, and even shared positive feedback from his cleaners about how well we left the apartment.

However, immediately after leaving a five-star review and privately messaging about unresolved maintenance issues, I was falsely accused of smoking in the unit (despite no one in my family being a smoker) and hit with a $900 cleanup fee. After researching, I found this is a recurring pattern with this host. I caution future guests to be aware of these unfair practices. This is insane and I want to take legal action.

Hello @Shamia6 👋

I'm so sorry to read about this situation. I wondered, as it's been a while since you posted, have you heard anything further from the Airbnb customer support team?

Looking forward to hearing from you. 😊

thanks for following up Rebecca. Support actually did follow up and they dismissed the claim as it was unsubstantiated, but I’m still fighting to get the false review removed unfortunately.
