Hello, coming here after a bit of back and forth with support.
Some time ago, I had set the keypad code for my listing. It is not a smart lock or internet connected device. Currently, when a guest checks in they are shown the wrong code. It is suggested to be the last 4 digits of their phone number. This is the expected behavior for smart locks, not keypads. I have a keypad.
In my listing settings, I have keypad selected. Normally, it would ask me to input the code so that when a guest checks into the listing, they are shown the code in the app. I have made sure to select keypad, and have de-selected and then re-selected the keypad option to make sure it wasn't stuck in a weird state.
My goal is to continue to offer my guests a check-in code for their reservation, instead of the last 4 digits of the guest's phone number. The code is constant, and I change it maybe one every 6 months manually, and update the app.
Has airbnb changed the way they handle keypads vs smart-locks? Or is there some kind of merger of the features? It's very confusing to my guests and myself. Can anyone help me get the correct understanding here?
