Using resolution center to collect small fee for late checkout
I am considering using the resolution center to collect a small fee for a two hour late checkout. I'm normally quite flexible about late checkouts but this particular guest has been exceptionally difficult. Other than a posted checkout time of 11:00, I don't have any rules about late checkout nor do I have a posted fee for late checkout. On a different and somewhat unrelated post, I saw mention that airbnb might enforce $2.70/hour late checkout fee. Does anyone have any experience in this regard? Thanks!!!
@Chris-And-Amy0 To bother claiming a $2.7/hr fee, even if it was possible, is a waste of effort and will lead to a bad review. If the guest is truly causing issues with a late checkout then they should be removed not charged.
My guest's review has already been removed for being retaliatory. He tried very hard to pressure me into giving him a refund by threatening me with a scathing review. As mentioned, this guest was exceptionally difficult. I will admit, my intent is not for compensation but rather just to be punitive. I know that's small of me, but I'm still upset about how he treated my wife and I. He also brought a dog without listing it in his reservation. Normally I would let the small, $10 pet fee slide but in this case I am considering asking for the $10 via the resolution center and am wondering about adding another small fee (perhaps $5.40) for the late checkout which is clearly evidenced by his messages. I appreciate your feedback but what I really want to know is if anyone has any experience about asking for compensation for a late checkout via the resolution center. Thanks!
You been hosting for 8 years, have close to 3,000 reviews and 4.94 star rating, impressive resume. Give that guest what you think is fair (star wise) and they should be out of your mind once you hit the summit button. Next.
No, in a thousand years I would not ask for compensation of a late check-out if it didn't cause a problem.
