What to payout on my TOT

I receive a pass through amount of money in my bank account from Airbnb. This amount was collected. on reservation as a "property use tax". Now... What amount of money do I base my % of payment to the municipality? Do I use the total amount of cash received on the transactions of the reservation, which included all what I received from Airbnb? which is the reservation amount and the pass through tax amt received by me?

Good question! It involves a bit of arithmetic. There is also a breakdown on the platform, on each reservation,  to double check yourself. Say your TOT is 11%. You take the grand total of the payment and divide it by 1.1 to get the total deposit net with the TOT removed. Or you can go to the financials for each reservation and add up the amount labeled as tax. At least that is  how I've figured it all out each quarter and written a check to the tax collector. Then platform does not have an arrangement with our county to remit the tax directly.
