At what point do you charge an extra cleaning fee when guests check out and leave a mess? While the home was not "destroyed" - it will easily take an extra 2 hours to clean up.  All board games & puzzles were dumped out (and I mean completely dumped out & then just dumped back into the crate all together), dishes left in the sink, food left all over the floor, futon covered in several stain (currently working on getting those out), 2 white towels clearly used to clean up messes/spills (we have specific towels for their use in those situations), sand bucket for guest use gone, etc. Luckily this was not a same day turnover or I would have not been finished in time for the next guests!

All that to say, is there a way to block a specific guest from booking again? We have only had issues with this guest and one other, but I do not want to host them again.

Hi Shannon,

We are new to hosting and this type of guest behavior is what we dread! So sorry you had to go through this. My only thought is, vet your guests a bit more. And, I would give a negative review to this guest, citing exactly what they did! Don't know if more experienced hosts would agree.

Best,

@Shannon886 If you leave an honest review for the guest then they will be highly unlikely to book again especially when you say NO to hosting the guest again.
