I've published an announcement in Italian and English so it's come out VERY long. It's come out perfectly on the Italian site airbnb.it but on the other site airbnb.com (where the English is even more important) most of the information is missing. The whole announcement doesn't really make sense in airbnb.com.

Can anyone help me with this?

Hi @Rosalind14,

you have to add a language on the description editing page, there should be an option on the top right. So you can put the descriptions in two different languages (italian and english): when a guest will open Airbnb in italy or chooses italian language will appear the italian description, in all other countries (or if you choose a different language than italian) will appear the english description.

Thanks for the answer. I've now followed your instructions which were very clear, thanks: I opened my announcement, clicked on "modifica" and selected the "altra lingua". However, in the list of other languages to select there was not Italian or English. Maybe because the announcement is already in Italian and English. On the airbnb.it site it all appears perfectly. On the airbnb.com site, the same announcement is a mess! Maybe I should start all over again? If I write it all in English and then click on the "altra lingua" and select Italian will the Italian be good or will it be a google-translate version?

@Rosalind14, you should separate the two languages. In the Italian section, write only in Italian. In the English section, write only in English.

It’s you, that writes the text, it’s not a Google translation!

At the moment, also Italian is a mess, in your listing: a mix of Italian and English, quite difficult to follow.

Please make corrections only by computer, not by phone; and using Chrome, because the website doesn’t work well with other browsers.

Thanks for your time in answering. I've followed your advice and it's much better now. Only the "House Rules" are strange. The ones on airbnb.it have come out in both languages and the ones on airbnb.com show only the listings and not the specific rules. I also tried with Chrome but can't insert the specific rules on the English lang. site. However, the main descriptions ar now ok. Thankyou very much.

@Rosalind14, you're right, the House rules are a strange thing.

You have to write them in Italian, in the Italian section, and Save.

Then, you must change the language of the website, accessing in English, and then write the rules in English, in the English section; and Save.

It should work.

Thanks for your timeand quick and clear answer.It's such a help to have more expert advice. I've done what you said but the rules only came out in one of the languages on both sites each time. So, I accessed the Italian language site and did it all in both and now that's come out perfectly on the Italian site even though the first language was in English but there's now sign of the written rules on the  .com site. I've also tried with chrome but it made no difference. I'll just keep going and maybe one day it will click in. Or on receiving a request from .com maybe I could send them the rules but it may seem that I am not very welcoming.
