Hi everyone,
I’m Nina and I recently listed my childhood home in the Galápagos Islands. I’m not getting as many bites as I’d like so I was hoping to get some advice / feedback. I am currently going through the photos and colour correcting them but would love to hear your tips.
It’s very remote so I’m also working on getting someone to professionally take photos.
thanks in advance
Nina

Hey @Nina1996
Congratulations on your new listing and a huge welcome to the Community Center! It's great to have you here with us.
I hope you don't mind, I added a photo and a link to your listing to your post. I'm hoping that with easier access, more hosts will pop by and support you with constructive and helpful feedback. 😊
Beautifyl house!E
Eight Guests is a large group on vacation< It happens but when was the last time you vacationed with that large of a group? It is a lower volume market. That isn't you or your property.
I have seen some Hosts with large properties put electric locks on some bedrooms then set up the property in 3 different listings 4 bedroom, 3 bedroom and 2 bedroom. Sometines that opens more narkets.

Your Guidebook is great I would create one about the food and a few others like 1 thartalks about Tortaise Bay. General Internet Searches read the Airbnb Site use an Ai Tool and tell it to write the Airbnb Guidebook SEO the bay and your luxury accomodarionss. That willl give it keywords so your liksting is presented.
Also use the Airbnb Custom Link. You just copy that post it on vacation pages you have an instant ad.
Tour cover photo is the first thing an Airbnb Guuest sees, show a cover photo that will entice your market.A potentual Guest has the mindsetvacation in the tropics. I would suggest shuffle it often beautiful outside or the toryaise bay or something that makes a guest curiosity.
Your house is beautiful but a Guest has a great priority on the locatiom. Share what you know. They don;t know your neighborhood probally may mot know ypur country. your house is a big plus but vacationers are seeking a certaun area first.
Thank you so much for stopping by @Marie8425, I hope you're well!
@Nina1996 have you had a chance to have a look at the feedback from the hosts here? It'd be great too know if you take any of the advice away and if it makes any difference to your bookings. 🤗
Apologies for the delayed response but thank you @Marie8425! I will most definitely implement these changes! I just posted a 3br alternative and I’m working on everything else 🙂
Nina, the Galápagos location is such a unique selling point!
One thing that really helps remote property listings is creating a visual story that highlights the lifestyle and surroundings, not just the house itself. Consider adding shots of the local wildlife, sunrise/sunset views, and nearby beaches to help buyers emotionally connect with the location.
Tools like ImageBooster can help you quickly enhance and resize these images to look professional while you're waiting for the pro photographer.
@Afnan8 Thank you so much for the tips! Great idea; I have been working through the photos and fixing them up / colour correcting them! Sorry for the delayed response.
Hi Nina,
What a special place to list, your childhood home in the Galápagos sounds amazing. I run an interior company in the UK and I work a lot with serviced accommodation owners around the world to help them improve both the look and the bookings, so I thought I’d share a few thoughts with the best intentions.
From the photos, the space feels a little cold and empty at the moment. I’d think about adding some natural rugs -jute or seagrass would be perfect - to warm things up and also help “zone” the space (for example, clearly defining the dining and seating areas).
I also feel the red accent colouring throws the calming neutral walls off a bit. When I think of the Galápagos Islands, I think of the outdoors and nature, so I’d expect to see more greens and blues, bringing that outside-in feeling into the space.
For bedding, personally I’d only use fresh white. The grey sheets look a little sad and white always reads cleaner, lighter, and more inviting in photos (and for guests).
And just from a guest point of view, especially as a family travelling with children, the fact that there’s no smoke alarm would be a blocker for me booking. Even a simple battery-powered one, rather than a wired system, would make a big difference for peace of mind.
I'd also suggest putting some images of the local areas to visit to show guests what they could see in the vicinity.
I hope that helps, and I really do mean all of this in the best possible way. You’ve got a lovely, unique place - just a few tweaks could really help it shine in photos and attract more bookings.

Hi @Leanne352
Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your insights, hopefully @Nina1996 will stop by and let us know if they've made any changes off the back of your suggestions. 😍
Hi @Leanne352 thank you so much! I will ask my property manager to buy some rugs. I totally het what you mean by the red, I just honestly don’t have the budget for new furniture 😁 as soon as I have some I’ll look at other options. I’ll make sure to get all the white sheets on for when I get the photographer by. Also I have asked my assistant to get a smoke alarm installed ☺️ thank you so much for the insights! And so sorry for the delay in responding.
