AirBnB with Project 2025

I was shocked and disturbed to understand recently that Airbnb is in support of Project 2025.  We have been Airbnb hosts and guests for almost 10 years.  We have believed in this company and what it provides our community. We are seriously considering dropping our hosting and moving to another similar company and finding other ways to rent while traveling. PLEASE RECONSIDER who you side with in this dangerous political time.  Trump is an absolute lunatic and we will have long term consequences from his actions.  Internationally do you really want to side with this type of individual?  What do we look like on the international scene?

Airbnb is not a place to voice your political views. It has nothing to do with it. This is only a place to ask questions about your listing get advice on it and learn from other hosts

When companies take political stances the only response is to respond with your own political sense of right and wrong.  Companies should stay out of politics but they don’t and neither will I.  I am also shocked and disturbed by the stance Airbnb is taking and will react by taking my business elsewhere.  I am cancelling the booking I made with them yesterday.

In this capitalist country, how we spend our money has huge impact on politics.  I want to know what my money is supporting.  The "power of the purse" that Congress supposedly holds appears to be jeopardy so how we chose to invest or not invest as citizens is critical.

Annie, I am also a host on Airbnb. I just blocked all my dates for 2026 as I am not sure what to do with the bookings that have already been made for 2025. I will be using VRBO exclusively until I can see if there are other options. I absolutely refuse to list with Airbnb or book with them in the future.

I have a guests that are reconsidering their  upcoming reservations, based on Project 2025. She is asking if I list on any other platforms, she does not want to support Airbnb. I have been on Airbnb only, for 10 years. I am preparing to join other platforms if Airbnb does not act swiftly on this issue that has many hosts and guests concerned.

I am in the middle of booking for Santa Fe and already booked an Airbnb for Albuquerque. I am willing to cancel and am looking at VRBO.  On what site did you find the Airbnb donation to Project 2025? 

I have looked on the app Goods Unite Us.  It shows a contribution distribution of 93% Democrat to 7% Republican from the company.  

I am in a fact-check mode because there is so much misinformation out there. Thank you for bringing this to our attention

I looked Goods Unite Us too and I am not sure it tracks things like Project 2025 and DOGE.

It does look like Airbnb is trying to distance itself from Gebbia
