How do you make your Airbnb space stand out without spending too much?

Hey everyone 👋

I’ve been hosting on Airbnb for a while now, and I’m always looking for small, affordable ways to make my space more memorable for guests.
Recently, I added a few DIY touches and some cosy lighting, and it actually boosted my reviews — but I’m curious what you all do!

How do you add that “wow” factor to your Airbnb without breaking the budget?
Is it décor, lighting, amenities, or something unique you offer guests?

Would love to hear your creative ideas or even see a few examples from your listings 💫

We get more comments about the wireless phone charging stations we place on every night stand than any other amenity we provide our guests. It was something we added as a minor convenience, but it has produced some great comments in our reviews.

Yes

usually I recommend

smritivan

prag mahal

aaina mahal

kutch museum

street foods

I have found clear friendly communication, cleanliness, and attention to detail are the most effective ways of making your space memorable.  Also, we make maple syrup that we give a small amount to each guest.  Something like this that fits the area in which you host is a great way of showing you care.

Hi @Chad673

That's amazing! How do you make maple syrup? Is it difficult to make? 🍁

@Alex You have to boil 40 gallons of maple sap down to make 1 gallon of syrup.  So it can be a time consuming process depending on the size of your operation.

Hi @Abu258,

Hi @Abu258,

We take great care in the details and cleanliness of our apartment. A small gift for arriving guests (a chocolate, a small designer notebook, or a personalized keychain) and, regarding the furnishings, many details that make the home warm and welcoming. We don't forget communication: we try to provide as much information as possible without being too intrusive.

Just be more responsive and give upmost priority to your guest.

Make them feel at home.

I totally agree with you, @Bharat70 communication is crucial. Do you live near your listing in case there are any issues with the apartment? 🏡

The biggest disappointment when I stay at other Airbnb’s is seeing cheap towels and microfiber blend sheets and comforters/quilts.
It’s worth the extra dollars to purchase 100% cotton towels and sheets.
Beds should be comfortable and not worn out. Those are the 2 things I want in a stay. Comfy bed and cotton sheets/towels.

paint and art are 2 inexpensive things that make your space “you.”

The worst is the generic, soulless Wayfair vibe.
we try to capture or showcase fun art around our state or city along with some silly prints peppered in.

That's such a great idea, @Abby476! Do you have any pictures of the fun art you have in your listing? 📸

Hi @Abu258

Which listings are you referring to to? Your profile shows you are a new guests rather than host?

My place is on a large plot so I just planted a lot of plants and trees and made little walking paths around the garden- also made a treehouse and I set up a hammock in good weather.
When most people are cramming as many rooms/homes on a single plot - we prefer to keep it green and natural with all less cement as possible

That's such a lovely idea, @Karan173! Not only are you making your home look better, but you're also helping the environment by growing trees and plants! Are there any specific types of trees you’re planting?🏡
