Another listing has the same listing name as i have been using for years.

within 1/2 mile of me. Hey folks, hi there, recently i was checking out prices in my area and found there is another listing using the same name as mine...Sweet Dreams....within half a mile! pretty confusing for folks looking for my place, or their's....i have been using the name for at least a decade and looks like they are new in the last year....any ideas on i correct this without drawing their ire? i have already reported the listing to airbnb but slow to no movement as of yet....

Hello @ChuckandCarole0

That's annoying for sure!  Under your profil you have two listings using the wording Sweat Dreams and Sweat Dreamzzz.  Curious as to why you didn't stick to the one way of spelling?

I would contact the host directly and suggest as you do, that it is in both of your interests to avoid any possible confusion amongst guests.   Hopefully they will say that they didn't realise that a listing already existed using that name and they will change it to something else🤞

Thanks for you attention....actually the word is Sweet, not Sweat...not sure how many folks i would get if the room made their dreams sweat?!    one can be rented as a bedroom in the house, and the other as a separate space, the difference in the zzzs helps me differentiate....and airbnb did advise me not to reach out personally to the other hostess....but.....i may have to do that after all.

Sorry @ChuckandCarole0

-  you’re right though terrible automatic typo 🤣

unless I am only renting to menopausal women?

Careful there @ChuckandCarole0 - that’s dangerous ground you’re stepping on! There’s a lot of us out there🤣

@ChuckandCarole0   Do you have a registered website domain with this name advertising your property (other than on AirBnB)?  Do you have a registered business name that you use to pay the rental property taxes?  Is the property deeded to an LLC with this name?

If so, you can alert the owner of the other property that this name was used by you prior to them...good luck.

@Lorna170  Thanks so much.  its a pretty low key endeavor, as the home is our residence as well...and i have always gotten enough biz with airbnb and vrbo that i didn't do my own website, and not deeded to an LLC...so makes tax stuff so simple...i may contact her...i just never know if people will get resentful with the most simple and seemingly reasonable requests....life huh!
