Hello everyone,
Creating a welcoming space for families seeking child-friendly listings can be a rewarding experience, as it helps expand the target audience for your listing. Do you consider your listing to be child-friendly? We'd love to hear from hosts who have taken steps to make their listings more suitable for families with children.
What amenities do you offer to make families feel comfortable and at home? Are there any safety measures you've put in place to ensure a worry-free stay for parents?

I have several listings for business travel that are not child-friendly, but our vacation rental is. We only offer the basics, pack-and-play, pool toys, etc. Looking forward to adding more when our long-term guest leaves in December!
Hi @Nicole3171 Thanks so much for sharing this. How often do you receive inquiries from families with children?
I’m happy to receive any child
My accommodation is not suitable for young children. Thank you Sally
Hey Paula, yes our home is child friendly but there is not baby cribs in the rooms. If you go too child friendly you end up turning away the big majority of vacationers. Good to always find a happy medium. We set up our rental mainly for bachelorettes, since they pay the most and show respect for the home. I would suggest picking your target audience and working backwards from there. Otherwise you’ll end up with painted white walls and modern furniture, competing with everyone else. Just my two cents 🙂
I have a pack and play and a high chair.
Hi everyone, I have a Graco My View 4-in-1 Bassinet that accommodates from newborn to toddler. I also have plastic dishes (in addition to glass dishes. We have a swing set in the back yard. The home has a pool and I keep child sized life jackets on the patio next to the posted pool rules. I have board games, children’s books, playing cards and hdmi cables in case they need it to connect their game console to the TV (smart tv in each room and living room)
My accommodation is not suitable for young children.
We are definitely child friendly, with loads of wonderful gardens for them to run around, completely walled off and a jungle gym in the bottom garden.
Yes.
Inside we have blocks, toys, a high chair and pack n play.
The house is on the edge of a 120 farm with chickens, horses, and two donkey tgat kids love visiting with their parents.
This sounds like a dream place for kids, @Tom-and-Julie1 😊. Have you been adding more amenities for children over time, or have you offered all of this since the beginning?
Hey there,
we offered from the beginning. The toys are in a nice container on a shelf in a closet. Those with kids always find them. The pack n play is in another closet. The high chair is in the garage. Everything for kids is easy to get. The farm and animals, the nature and sense of possibility is simply there.
Yes - we have toys, games and twin beds. We have a fenced in backyard, safe and quiet neighborhood. We also have locks going to the basement. However, we do not have a pack and play at this time.

Hello @Teresa2045, Thank you so much for sharing this. How often do you receive families with children? It's great to hear that you have toys for the kids. 😊
@Paula , our listing is not set up as child friendly accommodation. And due to the waterfall feature we have in the backyard, our home insurance policy (which also covers our STR) prohibits children. Besides I have enough on my hands dealing with my husband who can behave like a child (not picking up after himself, making a mess and then blaming the dog, not listening and/or paying attention…etc…).
