Hi
I'm thinking of letting my large guest bedroom out. Currently it has a queen sized sofa bed in it which I'm planning to sell but is it better to get a large double/queen in there or would you get two single beds?
Thank you
Large double looks more effective. However, I agree with Leigh-Ann25
it really depends on who you have as your guests.
What I've seen in the hotels is that they often have 2 single beds as a double. Then they act depending on a situation: if guests are not couple they move them apart. Not the best solution, but very practical.
It depends on the space you have and the type of clients you want to target, you could even go for two doubles and make it attractive for different type of travelers.
Hope it helps.
I would do Queen. Only do two twins if you have another room to furnish.
Hola. Saludos.
We have three listings, and in each bedroom we’ve placed the largest beds that comfortably fit the space. Couples generally prefer larger beds, while two friends are usually happy to share one. A larger bed offers more flexibility overall — it works well for both couples and friends. In contrast, two single beds can be off-putting for couples (at least for those who still like each other!).
Great information here @Warren228 - thank you so much for sharing with us. How have you set up your space for guests?
Thank you! I placed a king-size bed in the main bedroom and a queen-size bed in the second, smaller bedroom. There’s also a push-together sofa setup in the living room that converts into a queen-size bed—ideal for a couple of kids, smaller adults, or for creating a cozy space to watch TV.
Fantastic @Warren228 - thank you so much for sharing! Do you have a maximum occupancy for your listing which is reflected in the bed situation?
We also have one of those sofa beds - fantastic for movie nights! 🍿
They’re so good! We have a max occupancy of 6, so 2 beds and the push together works for us.
