Hotel-Style Bedding vs Home-Style Bedding

Hotel-Style Bedding vs Home-Style Bedding

Do guests prefer hotel-style bed setups with a linen service, or home-style bedding with a doona and doona cover?

@Michelle4940 Duvet and cover every time for me as a guest. I am never happy that hotel bed coverings are truly clean as they don't wash all the covers between every guest.

Thanks! I think I may not have explained my question clearly. I wasn't comparing hotels with Airbnb. I was asking about the bed setup itself. Do you personally prefer a hotel-style made bed or a more home-style doona and duvet cover setup when staying at an Airbnb?

The Home-Style Doona & Duvet Cover
This is highly popular in residential-style Airbnbs because it creates a cozy, inviting, and premium aesthetic in photos.
Pros: It looks high-end, feels plump and comfortable, and gives guests that warm "home away from home" feeling.

Cons: Laundering duvet covers is notoriously time-consuming. Shaking out a doona and inserting it back into a freshly washed cover takes significant physical effort and slows down turnover times for your cleaning crew.

Host Standard: If you choose this route, you must wash the duvet cover between every single guest stay to maintain hygiene standards.

The Hotel-Style "Triple Sheeting"
Pros: It is incredibly hygienic and efficient. Every single fabric layer that touches the guest’s skin goes straight into the washing machine. It is significantly faster to launder, dry, and iron flat sheets than it is to wrestle with duvet covers.
Cons: It can look a bit sterile, stiff, or less cozy in listing photos if it is not styled correctly with decorative throw pillows or an accent runner blanket.

Whichever style you pick, just ensure everything is 100% washable to give your guests total peace of mind!
