How do you decorate the guest bedrooms?

Quincy_0-1687191145125.jpeg

Hi all!

Everyone takes great effort in having their guest bedrooms looking all fine and dandy 🏠

Are you all about fluffy pillows and soft blankets? Maybe you've mastered the art of lighting and ambiance? Or perhaps you've got a knack for vibrant colours and eye-catching decor.

Tell me, what's your secret recipe for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere? How do you make your guests feel right at home ? Are there certain things you should not do?

Share your tips!

I agree Home goods and Big Lots Have been good sources for interesting decor and bedding blankets & table settings. If in California Ross & DeDes are good places to find discounted kitchen wear and decor.

Hi @Quincy

For us the most important thing is how our guests feel.

We want our guests to feel comfortable, invited, and safe.

For comfort we try to keep a palette that is neutral with a touch of color so that they aren’t over stimulated. We also have extra blankets and pillows.

To convey invitation we make sure the sheets are crisp, the room is spotless, and there is no clutter.

For safety we make sure the windows are covered.

I think it helps if you imagine yourself as the guest and think of what you would want or need - then provide that.

Below we have included some of examples from our homes.

Great question. I have two pillows/per person on every bed, one firm and one soft. I try to do the bed in layers with soft sheets and a combination of a coverlet and a light or heavy comforter depending on the seasons. I don't go for generic. We use the apartment for ourselves and family so we think of it as "sharing" our family guest house rather than an investment property. So I used our own furniture or shopped estate sales for interesting pieces that fit a 1920's apartment on the National Historic register.

I look for soft rugs on the hardwood floors so it's comfortable for bare feet. I try to keep the colors neutral and soft. I keep lights at the bedside. And I try to find soothing framed pictures to have on the walls.

I do have alarm clocks but realized so many people just use their phones I often find them unplugged.

We get a lot of comments from guests about how much it feels like coming "home" at the end of the day. (I inspire to get my own house that uncluttered) :-).

I tried to upload a photo but the system is giving errors today 🙂

Hello! @Quincy

Recently, I moved to my house (Ichihara city) from Funabashi city in July and I'm no longer to live in appartement.

Until apart from there, the appartement was decorated by a lot of pictures of Europe.

The most of favourite picture is Parga in Greece.

The reason why I chose, I have ever seen to the beach such as Okinawa, Fiji, New Zealand and so on,

but Greece is especially beautiful that bring about the different of blue tone, being along with colourful roofs...Even though I have never been to here, I imaged that will never forget it once I visit there.

By means of another coordination, I put some souvenirs on the desk. for instance, Seashell strap, Fiji soap, and travelled brochures.

if I have a chance to go to Europe, I want to visit to the Netherlands.

because, It's a good security, beautiful flowers, and enjoy around the cities by bicycle.

I'm going to be plan from now!

Therefore, My room is getting a lots ideas that looks like a life of Europe!

Thanks,

Minako
