Hello everyone 😊
Today, I would love to hear how you handle your bed linens and sheets!
This is an important part of creating a welcoming atmosphere for your guests.
What’s your approach? Do you prefer to handle it yourself, or do you like the convenience of outsourcing laundry? 🧺
I would love to hear why you prefer your chosen approach and look forward to reading about your experiences in the comments!

Hi Elisa:
I considered myself lucky, the laundromat service is excellent.
At the begining of each season, wheter winter or summer season we handle all by ourselves. This way all the sheets, towels, etc has to pass through our hands and we can see if any is damaged, has a hole, dirty or has spots. If we find something - we put it away and replace it.
We do that also at the end of the season.
In season we have a high volume of turnovers so we take it either to professional service or laundry service.
However, every time that we can do it by ourselves, when we have little bit more time - we do it ourselves. This way we inspect it again.
We have extra sets for every property and also some reserve. We managed to have everything in the same sizes (towels, pillows, etc) so if it mixes - it's not a problem. Since we have 2 villas, 2 apartments and 2 city flats (yes, everything x2), it is very convenient to have similar bed linen, similar glasses, pots, etc... We even have 2 same pools so we don't bother about engine rooms and chemicals.
Most of bedlinen is made of that material that you don't have to iron.
Most of bedlinen is in sone color (not white).
Keeping things simple saved us a lot of time and nerves.
I hope this helps someone.

Thank you for sharing your comment here!
How is it going? Do you ever feel overwhelmed while doing other tasks?

We launder all sheets and pillowcases after every stay. We use a duvet for the outer bedding and wash and change the duvet cover about every 3-4 stays.
we have internal covers on the pillows and launder those about once a month.
@Ann41028 We wash the duvet cover, pillow cases, flat sheet, and towels after every stay.
Hi @Ann41028 😊,
I am impressed, you have a detailed cleaning routine for your bedding!
How do you determine when it’s time to wash the duvet cover between stays?

we have a standard cleaning time length but the duvet cover is examined carefully after every stay and switched out for a second one for laundering if there are any visible soils
I hire a cleaning person. I usually work alongside her just to make sure all the little details are covered. As for laundry I usually do it myself, I maintain multiple sets of sheets and towels just to ensure I have enough if there are back-to-back bookings. I have found that your cleaning people focus on cleaning, so it is important that I as the host ensure the small details are covered, things like hand soap is filled, dish detergent is in place, and accessories are placed as I like them. It is important if you have a coffee station that it is adequately stocked.
Hi @Amy2895 😊,
Thank you for sharing your approach here!
I see so much work involved, my compliments! 😍
How many bedrooms do you rent?

I have two bedrooms with the third set up as an office. It has a lounge chair in it that converts to a single bed
I handle the cleaning completely myself. It’s really important to me that the cleaning is of high standards and as I’ve been a cleaner in the past I feel I know my guests won’t complain if I handle it.
I keep 2 sets of everything, everything gets stripped as I walk in the door and washing machine goes on. Second set goes on as first set washing. I have put a washing machine in unit. Hang them on line and worry about them when dry. My guests are then checking in on time and have all 5 star reviews for cleanliness.

Hey Elisa,
I used to do private cleaning for air bnb properties so have luckily got a lot of practice before starting my own air bnb. The main thing I find is have a system so that nothing is forgotten. Once you get your routine you will sail through it and know that no errors were made inbetween.
